Massachusetts Code of Conduct for Manufacturers
Effective July 1, 2009, manufacturers who are located in Massachusetts and those that market to facilities in the state are subject to a new Marketing Code of Conduct. This regulation puts restrictions on the interaction between a manufacturer and its Massachusetts clients and imposes an annual fee of $2,000 on any manufacturer that is required to report specified types of sales activity to the state.
AOPA has reviewed this regulation and has determined that if manufacturers take certain steps with regard to their marketing efforts, they may be exempt from this regulations, in full or in part, and may not be liable for the $2,000 annual fee.
