AOPA Update: Help With Educating Physicians On PECOS
AOPA has put together a draft letter that members may want to use when educating referring physicians about PECOS.  It contains a brief description of PECOS and why they need to re-enroll through this system.  It also gives a link to a CMS website where they can learn more and actually enroll. Former AOPA President, David C. Shultz, CPO, Passes Away
On September 28, 2009, David C. Shultz, CPO, passed away. Mr. Schultz was a two-time president of AOPA, serving in the office from 1990-1991 and again in 2001-2002. Mr. Schultz's contributions to AOPA also include his chairmanship of the Coding and Reimbursement Committee from 1995 until elected to a second term as president in 2001. A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 3. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistance Fund (OPAF).
