Birko-Ortho: 230 Years of Experience

     In the year 1774, the shoemaker Johann Adam Birkenstock, born in Germany, had the vision of offering comfortable insoles that promote healthy feet and thus laid the foundation for our anatomically shaped footbed insoles. Licensed by Birkenstock, Birko-Ortho footbeds are shaped like the imprint of a healthy foot and adapt the hard, flat surface of conventional shoes to the anatomical shape of the foot. The foot is stabilized and aligned in its natural position, so that standing, walking and running are healthier and more comfortable.
