2020 Presenter Information

On behalf of AOPA, thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2020 National Assembly.  Given the impact of the corona virus disease and related difficulties, AOPA has extended the deadline to submit your proposal for the AOPA National Assembly.  Submissions are now due Friday, April 3.   

Timeline and Upcoming Deadlines

  • April 3, 2020
    • Call for Papers Deadline.
  • May 8, 2020
    • Presenters notified of acceptance.
  • May 18, 2020
    • Additional details as requested by reviewers is due.
  • June 1, 2020 
    • Please verify and update all information in the mobile app. Verification instructions will be provided in your acceptance correspondence.
    • Provide your head and shoulder photograph and short 50-75 word biography to rgleeson@aopanet.org. This can also be done in the mobile app verification.
  • June 1, 2020
    • Preliminary Program Published.
  • August 7, 2020
    • Hotel Cut off- Please secure hotel reservations as the room block will likely sell out.
    • Complete the online registration form using the code provided in your speaker correspondence *for early bird rate*.
    • Submit your Presentation Waiver to rgleeson@aopanet.org.
    • Submit your handouts for printing or inclusion in the mobile app.
    • Submit a 10-question quiz.  Details will be provided, but to assist with your pre-planning.  A 10-question quiz consisting of multiple choice and/or true-false questions is requested.  The answers should be highlighted.  The quiz will allow attendees to earn additional CE Credits. Please email your completed quiz to rgleeson@aopanet.org.

Promote Your Participation!

AOPA is asking all presenters to sign a presentation waiver form as AOPA will be recording presentations this year. Your presentation will be available to AOPA members for future use. Visit AOPAversity to preview how the recordings are made available. If you submitted a free paper, you are not required to sign a form because this was completed through your online submission process.

Slide Template

Presenters are encouraged to utilize the National Assembly PowerPoint template. Using your own PowerPoint design template is permissible, however, the planning committee respectfully asks that all presenters limit the use of their corporate logo on their handouts and presentation slides to the first and/or last slide only. Template coming soon.

Handouts

AOPA will be happy to copy and distribute your handouts. If you have a presentation handout you would like printed, please email to rgleeson@aopanet.org by August 7, 2020. Handouts will be distributed via the mobile app as well as printed. You are also welcome to copy and bring your own handouts. AOPA will not have access to equipment to make copies onsite.

Presentation Quiz

A multiple choice quiz is required and necessary to allow attendees the opportunity to earn extra CE credits for participating in your presentation.  The quiz may be accessible to attendees during your session on the AOPA365 mobile app. Please email your quiz to Ryan Gleeson at rgleeson@aopanet.org by August 7, 2020. If you are submitting a free paper please provide 3 questions. All other programming, requires 10 questions.

Audio Visual

All meeting rooms will be equipped with a full complement of audio visual equipment, including projector, computer, and microphones. Should you have special needs, please contact Ryan Gleeson at rgleeson@aopanet.org. All presenters should plan to check in with the AV technician assigned to your meeting room at least 30 minutes before your program is scheduled to begin.

Registration

Each presenter will receive a link and code to register online.  Please be sure to complete the online registration form to confirm your participation and secure your badge for the show.  All participants need a badge to access the exhibit hall show floor and to access education meeting space.

Students and residents are encouraged to submit their poster presentations, and are entered to one one of two prestigious awards. Deadline is July 17, 2020.
