AOPA Announces 2025 Board of Directors

The American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) is pleased to announce the 2025 Board of Directors.

The Executive Committee consists of Rick Riley who was elected to serve as President. Along with, Mitchell Dobson, CPO who becomes Immediate Past President and Kimberly Hanson, CPRH who moves to President-Elect. Joining them are Matt Swiggum who was elected to serve as Vice President, and Chris Nolan who was elected to serve as Treasurer.

New to the Board of Directors are Jeff Erenstone, CPO; Deanna Fish, MS, CPO, Shane Kelly, and Andrew Steele, CPO, MBA.

They join Arlene Gillis, CP, LPO, M.Ed., Adrienne Hill, MHA, CPO(L), Jim Kingsley, and Shane Wurdeman, PhD, CP, FAAOP(D).

“AOPA’s Board members’ leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication provide the strategic direction and support the organization needs to fulfill its mission. I am deeply grateful for their commitment to guiding us toward a brighter future and ensuring that we make a meaningful impact for the membership,” said Eve Lee, MBA, CAE, Executive Director. “They, along with the staff will build off the strategic initiatives developed in 2024, working to further transform O&P care in the coming year.”

Elected by the membership, the AOPA Board of Directors is representative of the membership and serves as the governing body, responsible for the supervision and direction of its mission.

About the new Board members:

Jeff Erenstone, CPO is the head Clinician and lead researcher for Mountain Orthotic and Prosthetic Services, Jeff has built a practice which specializes in designing digital workflows, fabricating prosthetic components with 3D printed materials, and adaptive athletic design. Jeff is educated as a Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist and has three offices in Northern New York. In addition to his clinician practices, Jeff founded Operation Namaste. He has become a well-known innovator in the use of digital technology for prosthetic care, especially 3D printing and its use in low to middle income countries (LMIC). Jeff founded Operation Namaste, an NGO focused on sharing technology, education, and resources to aid people in need with physical limitations. Jeff believes that the future of care in LMIC is a combination of traditional Orthotic and Prosthetic techniques.

Deanna Fish, MS, CPO is a graduate of the University of Washington’s O & P program and received a master’s degree in biomechanics from the University of Oregon.  She is an American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics certified orthotist and prosthetist, specializing in triplanar lower limb deformities, pathomechanical gait conditions, and cranial remolding orthoses for infants with skull deformities.  She was an instructor of the OOS-1 Basic Seminar and Functional Walking:  An EPICä Approach for nine years and has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics relating to lower limb and cranial deformities, and the corresponding orthotic treatments. She served as Vice President of Orthotics for NovaCare Orthotics & Prosthetics and as Director of Clinical Training & Development for Hanger Orthopedic Group.  She has also published in the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, written two chapters on lower extremity orthoses, three chapters on deformational plagiocephaly and cranial remolding orthoses, and one chapter on post-operative management of craniosynostosis with cranial remolding orthoses.  Ms. Fish has served as Chief Clinical Officer of Linkia, Vice President of Orthotics for Hanger Clinic, and currently serves as Clinical Outreach Manager for Orthomerica Products Inc.  She recently received the Clinical Creativity Award from the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and continues to be involved in education and training, outcomes research, and orthotic consultation.

Shane Kelly serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Thuasne North America, bringing nearly 5 years of dedicated leadership to the company.  With over three decades of experience in the orthotics & prosthetics and medical device industries, Shane has held several pivotal executive roles.  Prior to joining Thuasne, Shane was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Aspen Medical Products as well as Vice President and General Manager for divisions of Zimmer Biomet and Enovis.  Shane’s entrepreneurial spirit also led him to own and operate a successful business outside of the medical field for five years, which he eventually sold to return to his true passion in the O&P space with Thuasne.

Shane holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Tulane University and an MBA in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, with his wife and is the proud parent of three children.  In his free time, Shane enjoys hiking, skiing, volunteering and exploring the world.

Andrew L. Steele, MBA, CPO is an owner/managing partner of Clark & Associates Prosthetics and Orthotics, a prosthetics (artificial limbs) and orthotics (orthopedic braces) patient care company based in Waterloo, Iowa.  Andrew became interested in the field of prosthetics after sustaining a left below knee amputation in 1981 at the age of 12.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Iowa, completed his postgraduate prosthetics and orthotics education at Northwestern University and earned a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Northern Iowa.  Andrew is certified in orthotics and prosthetics by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics and licensed to practice in the state of Iowa.  He has been a lecturer at regional and national meetings and a guest lecturer at the university level.  Clark & Associates is a six-practitioner partnership with offices in Waterloo, Dubuque, Marshalltown, Mason City, Cedar Rapids, Clive, Sioux City and Coralville.
