MISSION STATEMENT: The AOPA Research Committee develops the Association’s opinions and recommendations with respect to all funded research initiatives.

PURPOSE: The committee will advise the AOPA Board on which research initiatives to pursue and offer guidance on appropriate budgetary considerations. The Committee will also advise staff on the implementation and execution of projects associated with research projects including Prosthetics 2020 and Orthotics 2020 initiatives.

WORKPLAN/ACTIVITY:   The committee will review all RFPs and subsequent proposals for research projects under consideration for funding by the AOPA Board. The committee will meet quarterly.

A committee of 8-10 members, will be identified by the Research Pillar Chair, and appointed by the President. In making committee appointments, the President should seek to introduce new participants each year during the Fall meeting, and limit tenure to 3 years. The Committee will meet quarterly.
