Matt Swiggum Appointed to AOPA Board

We are pleased to announce that Matt Swiggum has been appointed to the Supplier Director seat on the AOPA Board of Directors, effective immediately. His term will extend through November 30, 2024, when he will be eligible for inclusion on the election ballot.

As the CEO of PROTEOR USA, Swiggum brings a wealth of experience in prosthetics, having dedicated his career to advancing the well-being of individuals with limb loss and limb difference. He firmly believes in the importance of providing advocacy tools and ensuring open access to care for the long-term success of this community.

With a background encompassing executive leadership, sales, and marketing spanning back to 1997, Swiggum is poised to strengthen relationships with professional partners, ultimately benefiting the orthotic and prosthetic profession and those they serve. His extensive service on the boards of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF), California Orthotics and Prosthetics Association (COPA), and the Amputee Coalition reflects his commitment to contributing to the profession and those living with limb loss and limb difference.

Swiggum holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and business from Morehead State University, Kentucky, and he has completed the executive program curriculum at the Carlson School of Management.

Currently residing in Austin, Texas, with his wife Heather, a certified Prosthetist, and their two children, Swiggum looks forward to continuing his valuable contributions to supporting individuals, clinicians, inventors, and organizations within the profession.
